Title: TJ Fuel Pipe
Post by: ivanidea on April 24, 2014, 09:28:03 AM
After splitting the fuel line in the TJ recently, I am looking for a replacement.

None of the manuals, parts diagrams or web sites I've been to shows the plastic pipe from the fuel pump to the metal fuel line.

Without a part number, I am unable to replace the pipe.

It has special locking connectors at either end.

The temporary solution is just to use high pressure fuel hose andjubilee clips, but would prefer to use the proper part since I would have to drop the fuel tank if it came undone.

Any ideas where I can find the part number or even get the part from?

I would try the Jeep dealer, but ever since Fiat took over, they don't stock or get hold of parts from anything before 2007.

It is a 2001 4.0L Manual TJ.

I have had fuel hose and fuel clamps holding mine since about 2007. It leaked once so I replaced the hose and clamps. Didn't need to drop the tank to do it  :017:

Good hose and good clamps should be fine, it's what they are designed for  :greggmo:

The fuel tank in my TJ has been lifted, so you can't access the top where the fuel pump is, so the only way to get to the connector is to drop the tank.

Since I have to do this on the road, I would rather have a replacement part to swap and save time.

It sounds like a different setup to mine. I had to extend mine when the LPG was fitted and had no problems with it. Sounds like Mike might have something suitable in his box of bits.
