Really don't fancy doing it myself, will ask some local garages for a quote but wondered how many hours to do?
-
id' say a couple of hours, main problem will be the pass pipes as the nut could sieze in place. i removed one from my scrapper and that took 1/2 hr but with no engine in the way
-
think it will go to a garage to be done then, if it was a big job (ie big £) I would do it myself but losing the interest in working on the thing now

Be warned!
The steering box is held by three bolts and it is customary for at least one to snap. This is usually the bottom one. There is also an aluminium spacer between the box and the frame rail and this can break up during the removal process (probably will).
These are dealer only parts and I dont recommend replacing the bolts with any old item you have lying around as it is kind of critical. Before starting the job it might be worth buying a couple of bolts and a spacer or at least making sure you can get hold of some in a hurry should the need arise.
