I'm looking at getting some Autolite XP985 Iridium plugs for the ZJ, and just wanted to check if they would have any issues running on LPG. I've done a bit of research, but can't find anything concrete.
What plugs do you run with your LPG conversions? Have you noticed anything bad or wrong with them?
-
from my understanding if your running lpg the iridium plugs are a waste of money as you don't see a benefit
-
Thanks for replying. I'm looking for longevity from them really; buy good, buy once type thing. Do you think these plugs wont last as long as the manufacturer says? (five year guarantee I believe)
-
Brisk plugs are well rated for LPG although I have always run with standard units :icon_winkle:
-
just get the standard plugs, don't waste money
-
The correct Champion plugs bought from Jeep dealers used to carry a 100000 mile guarantee (from Champion) and were about 2 quid each.
-
standard spark plugs will last to the life of the car and beyond
-
depends what car :003:
I just run oem plugs with 10% less gap than stated for petrol on my LPG I6
-
Ran OEM and also platinum for many many miles. Platinum stayed good for a long time, I changed the OEM more often but in reality I think they are all good enough
-
a previous car that I had was on LPG and I ran the standard plugs the vehicle was fitted with. no issues at all.
the Iridium plugs are just meant to last longer with no performance improvements, but there is no reason why you couldnt use them
with my TJ (its on petrol) I change the OEM bog standard plugs every 50,000 kilometers, but going by the look of them probably would last twice the distance
