Twin batteries.
« on: January 17, 2014, 12:38:39 PM »

Now I've got a winch, I've been thinking of fitting a,second battery and split charger.
Problem is, where to fit the 2nd battery in a Cherokee as there's no room under the bonnet.
That leaves the rear.
Has anyone done this, and what sized cables did ya run etc. ?

I fitted a winch battery in the rear of the cherokee. I used flexible welding cable got it from Eland Cables

I've run a single battery for years in competition and leisure never needed a second battery , as yours is for recovery not completion maybe a battery upgrade would be better .

That would be a lot cheaper, the battery that's in is only 2years old, still could be a better option.
Maybe upgrade the alternator at some point ?
