Title: Cheapfest 2012 Punch Hunt and Trials
Post by: Warthog on September 05, 2012, 12:15:06 AM
As per norm there will be at least 20 punches out on the site to find and get too.

As there seems to be a fair few Jeepers coming :icon_super:

All those that wish to have a Punch Card tagged onto their truck? See me and I'll sort out a card for you :023:

There also will be a 10 gate trials section put up somewhere on the SatUrday and Moved for the Sunday for peeps to have a go at too.

Theres no prizes to be had from either, just bragging rights between you and fellow Jeepers Blues

Any Questions

Donk, I normally approach trials with the aim to get through the canes, all that fussing about shunts and reversing is a waste of time in an XJ (especially when it's as wide as the gates the suzuki triallers like to set)

I dont care how wide the gates are because I have never driven my XJ off road yet, come to think of it I've only driven it about 15 miles. So it will be fun trying and you guys will have plenty of gates to replace. Bring it on  :098:

It wasn't the gates that were the problem it was the trees it didn't fit between  :banghead:

And I'm fresh out of spare props now, need to refurb a couple  :lol_hitting: killed another one a few weeks ago.

Be warned, the majority of those that drove over the canes in the trials section ended up with a battle scare or two :003:

To give ya an incentive not to hit them, they are made out of 10mm steel....

Think they even done a bottom hose at West Harptree, due to a Red CJ5 driving over one!

The key to a trials section is to drive through the gate, not over :hysterical:

If there's enough interest in the trials we could hold a wee gathering on the Saturday afternoon? Give y'all all something to chat about around the Fire?

Whattya reckon?

Yup sounds cool. Finally...... Got my front winch to work, so if any punches could need to be winched to that would be good!

BD sid can jump in with me. Though we may need a step ladder so he can get in :003:

guys, just a bit of safety stuff.

Got no problem with Sid been Willos bitch but we must remember its potentially a very dangerous time, he is an enthusiastic young guy and may not see dangers so you must look after him big time.

And remenber the punches and trials section are just for fun, no competition here so have fun but please do it safe  :greggmo:

The punches try to cater for all.

But I do have a few spares, so we could get creative for those who want something a little tougher :icon_twisted:

Nosebolt has an image of one such punch, at Compton Bassett  :hysterical:

Yup! Till around 2:30-3pm.

It takes me ages to remember where I put them, to recover them and get home before midnight.

Gotta have someone keeping us in check. It's a ball ache, but without some awareness and constraint, it's only natural we Humans try fooking ourselves up and blame someone else.

I say, thanks Steve for watching my back while I'm having fun. I'll return the favour by watching his, while he's doing his bit :023:

So how many Virgin campers to Ribbo do we have?

Anyone told'em about the Cockerels :hysterical:

as much as we all seem it to be ok by all parties, age of legal responsisbility always looms above us in what happens no matter how friendly we all are. Winching is a dangerous activity and needs to be done by responsible adults, if a child helps then everything that child does needs to be checked. we all know what happens when a wire or shackel lets go so best be done right first time.

Dont forget your ear plugs as them cockrells are damm anoying

sure there was something in the PLI about minors (under 16) to be either strapped in or at a safe distance during manoeuvres, but Sids a smart lad and sure if he is told the dangers he will be fine, maybe an opportunity for some general safety instruction before the trails (for the big kids too)

one thing I would strongly recommend is HiVis for all novice winch bitches regardless of age

and if all else fails make sure there is camera on Sid at all times, guaranteed what ever happens the little sod will give us all a laugh  :hysterical: :hysterical:

jeesh you lot are a depressing bunch, nowhere in my post did I say Sid would be my winch Bitch, I merely said he could jump in with me, with the intention of doing some punches as I know it bores the hell out of Ade.

If you'd like a copy of my resume so you can judge whether or not Ade should let his son have a jolly in my Jeep, then please let me know

Common sense to be used at all times.

Cameras required when BD and mud comr together. One to record the level of stuckness and the other to record the amount of mud on Sid
