The fourth event for this year has been booked at Wagtail near Shipston on Stour South of Warwick.
See here for details www.cheapfest.co.uk (http://www.cheapfest.co.uk)
Basic fees are:
£25 per day offroading
In order to get people confirmed and get some money in we can offer a slight discount for 'weekend' tickets purchased in advance:
£45 for the weekend offroading with camping Saturday included.
Pay via Birtys ticket office
As with West Harptree, I will also setup another thread only for confirmed attendees, you can add your name if you are 100% confirmed whether you have paid in advance or not.
-
Up for that large
-
In conjuction with Mrs Bubba's team Birty taking part in the race for life / cancer research event on the following weekend of 14th July, it is hoped that we can also help raise a few quid at this event but please do not feel that if you attend you have to add to the coffers, it is purely voluntary to contribute.
More details of what is planned & how to donate will be posted up in good time but I will leave that to Kev (Bubba) to elaborate further when plans are firmed up.
-
Remind me where wagtail is please?

My fault.......took the busted prop in last Monday and just had news that spares will be a 2 week wait or its new bits which is close to new build.......
2 weeks puts me out of the action.........not to mention the ZJ towing issue.......so doublebuggah
Tis less than 100 miles so might just visit on the Kwak.......
-
Kwak power ...... you know it makes sense Jez :icon_super:

I'm pretty sure I've got the parts you need but can't help with the ZJ towing issue. PM if you want to know about parts.
-
Thanks James...... Tis. Just the internal spider, linked by the pin from the Double cardon joint so no big deal.......just a wait.......
other alternative bigger shafts would be stronger but then would rip the. Ass out of the back end of the Dana 300 ......
its all to do with going for the beef...... The weak link just moves up the drivetrain :jpshakehead:
As for the Tow Issue........ There is a plan afoot. Ssssshhhhh....
-
Ok - I have spare XJ front shaft double cardans and new replacement parts to rebuild them, including some internals but if yours is getting done then best continue down the original path...or fit beefy shafts and an Atlas tcase :icon_twisted:
-
you're right..... Better start doing the lottery again......... :icon_twisted:
-
Andy, got your dosh, cheers :icon_winkle:

Yes excellent time, it was my first time with cheapfest event, so being the noooob there were things to learn from it,
Pack a welder in your boot just in case you need to weld a nut and bolt to get 3 out of 4 brakes working to get you home the 130 miles that that I was going to do using the handbrake.(Massive thanks Donk.........beer ready for you in September).
Pack tools for emergency repairs, (Thanks to all who helped with this).
Don't get stuck in a vertical position and go for a beer to chill, (Thanks to Paul the knowledge master and Kev who was a star all weekend).
Buy brake fluid where there is civilisation keeps the cost down.
Take food as not much around area, get decent coolbox, nobody likes a warm beer.
And thank the people who helped massively with Guiness the next time you meet them, (Thanks for being the man with a cut leg, "Bless" and for fixing me up Kev, p.s don't swear.)
Overall a good experience and a learning experience I now know more techy stuff and I can find the North star.
Gary thanks for arranging and spotting and telling me to slow down, all in all an excellent bunch of guys and gals who look out for like minded folk.
Cheers..............see you in September.
Some nice trucks to see there.

I was only there for Saturday but great fun non the less, great off roading as always and happy with the XJ, Donk I will be calling to sort the rear leaf's.
Oh and until I was goded into driving the rusty bridge no one did it, once I didn't fall to my death everyone had a play.
Although Donk XJ is a lot heavier than mine!!

Low-lites: why the feckity feck did I sell the XJ :jump_125:
