Just got back need  :icon_jook:

Really good day, very challenging conditions, anyone who has been before will know what the hill to get to the top of the site is like, well it was for the very committed but everybody made it up, eventually  :003:

BD is showing major commitment, never heard a V8 scream before but fair play to him.

Managed to bust one JKS disconnect & bend the other fooker, thats commitment for you  :003:

Pics to follow.

Much thanks to MOCAJ for running the day & to Mark & Clayt (Warthog & Astlum) for taking the lead & tale end charlie roles.

Cracking time folks  :icon_super:

I'll take a pic of the bits later then maybe somebody can tell us both Daggs  :003:

Have a good day Kev, if you have a fuel cap for the Chief that would save BD a lot of money too, new name for the chief yesterday was Molatov  :icon_winkle:

the slope for the two vidoes is the entrance to the clyro waterfall. Assylum was controlled all the way down where Mocaj followed in exactly the same gear and control but lost traction towards the bottom.

The climb up to the top of the hill was challenging each time it was travelled. With changing conditons the driving was a interesting and hard even with the most aggressive tyre pattern. Bulldog showed the ability of the chief in std condition by achieving everything attempted with minor coaching on steering wheel turning to gain better traction, even with a v8 running flat out.
Saturday saw the humidity rise which mad us feel like your eaten alive with the insects, walking around was challenging itself due tot he slipperiness of the ground.
The waterfall was condsidered after plenty of time discussing the condition Warthog and James decided to give it a go. Warthog took the exit before the waterfall while James carried on. This was very technical and the XJ was probably the better vehicle to use due to the long wheel base and it was completed safely with a couple of battle scars. Unfortunately the photographs do not do the route justice in regards to condition and the nature of the steps.
video footage if uploaded is worth the viewing.

Sunday morning was on a drying surface with a still wet substrate which made driving even more challenging. with the temperature rising into the 29's and the humidity rising as well cooling was a concern for some.

either way a great weekend was had in one form or another and good organisation from Mocaj with everyone pulling together to assist in every way for each others little problems. This weekend for me showed what the Birtys club was all about.

Health and safety was observed at all times

I really need to make next years. This year I'm afraid I was being an auctioneer!! :003: We were raising money by auctioning off favours from people in the local church. The money is going to a Christian charity that helps young kids who've been raped in the ghettos of South Africa. By the age of 5, in these areas, 1 in 4 girls have been raped by their fathers or a relative due to the misuse of drugs and alcohol. :jpshakehead: A British guy and his wife whom I know, who should be in retirement, started a charity to help those kids which is really blossoming. In 3 hours we raised over a grand so I reckon it was worth me missing out this year but as Arnie says.."I'll be back!!" :003:

Home mid-afternoon but knackered - what a great weekend. Even the damp Friday weather wasn't then end of the world, MOCAJ loaned out some space in his kitchen for us!

I could have driven the waterfall a bit better but it was still good fun and I have to thank Dave and my other spotters/guides cos I couldn't have done it without them.

Hope you all had a good time and got home safe.
