Bought a VW/AUDI  code reader , same company as the one i bought for the jeep,, very pleased, think they are a chinese
 ripoff
of one a lot more expensive ?  :icon_winkle:

Have a look on ebay they might be cheaper. I got one of these after being recomended by a fellow Birty

I have an ELM327 interface from eBay - bluetooth one. With this and the Torque app and others that are availalbe for android and apple you can do most stuff. If you already have a smart phone, pad or laptop this could be the cheapest route -the ELM327 was less than £15 and comes with software. You can see fancy graphics of your engine data and even time 0-60 and 1/4 miles  :icon_twisted:

thanx. im afraid i just need single scan. im not too technical. maybe somebody not to far from london have some spare time to scan my xj for... open to offers. just dont want to buy toys which i can not really use.

Kwik-Fit can do a diagnostic scan for you for about £35

The one I posted link to is very easy to use, not brain surgery ..... very simple.

Plug in, read codes, delete codes if you want ..... simples  :greggmo:

Should do, I think one of Steve's is a 97 & it works on our January 98 & however old Cockney Boys is  :icon_winkle:
