I think CF needs to have a band and BBQ again. And I wouldn't mind doing a new Breakout site too

Breakout yes.....new site?     Where you thinking?

Two places...... Birties go to Seven Sisters

And Birties go to KORC

Both at extremes of the country but I would go......(7s is a mother of a haul so 3 day event needed) KORC is 100 miles only.....

I'd recommend doing 7S with J33P rather than trying to host an event there. Non MOT vehicles are acceptable but get checked, all vehicles get checked actually but non-MOT a bit more. It would be great to have a Birtys group tour the site and help each other with punches, trials, sections etc.

Kirton or Clyro as a different location for breakout maybe? I'm happy to organise a West Harptree but could make in later in the year maybe??

Well I am determined to get to a event in 2015, Kirton is 140 miles for me which is doable but looks like Clyro is closer to 300 miles which is not, for me

Time to bring this topic back to life I think.

I personally need to see some event location change this year. Kirton, Clyro and Seven Sisters are on my List.

Birties of old have a reputation for not traveling to far from home unfortunatly so how about ya'll prove them wrong this year?  :greggmo:

Sorry guys, thought I had put this here earlier when Clayt first posted DOH !!

Copied from what I posted in the Mods Donnington thread.

Probably not the right thread for this but here goes what’s been spinning in my head & it’s up for discussion so shoot me down if you like folks. Just chucking it out there

I will get hold of Tony & update the Donnington thing over the next few days all being well.

Events this year, if last year is anything to go by, if it wasn’t for team Donk, West Harptree & Wagtail would hardly have any attendance. Fortunately both pay per truck so club didn’t lose money but likewise didn’t add a fat lot towards the annual £500 PLI or internet fee's kitty.

Was thinking that the atmosphere at CF was great having folks from other clubs, & for something different this year, I'm hoping to talk to Tony Willetts about possibly tagging on to J33 at 7 sisters, a place where we could never hope to book on our own & it won’t be the usual £50 price that we try & keep to for events.

Likewise, there is the fab opportunity to go to Kirton with Mike Smiths charity do at £50 for the weekend, a rate which is cheaper than Kirton members could do it for.

That leaves Cheapfest & the turkey hunt which are provisionally booked at Ribbo. The Turkey hunt just about covers its own costs & if we want a band & BBQ for CF like last year, we can do it but won’t be able to raise as much for charity given that it’s the one earner to pay for all others during the year.

There is a possibility & it’s only a possibility that we may be able to book a midlands based event for the breakout at a venue not used by Birty's before, more details later but i am in the hands of another so will leave it at that for now. Update, we are looking at a one day event at Hawkstone Park, need to check camping & stuff.

Have to be honest that Clyro doesn’t have much there for a lot of people these days & we have only been able to use half the site for a few years, however J33 are going there again this year.

Shout, scream or nod to any & all of the above, just kicking it out there but time is ticking

It's a good plan, 7 Sisters and Clyro with J33P will be fun. I've never done Kirton so looking forward to that. I had better get busy sorting the garage and Jeep.

There is a chance I may be there next month with a couple of local lads, I can see what's its like.

I agree re Cheapfest, we could attempt a decent event like 2014 and it will be epic.

I must agree. It is like a pilgrimage to Birmingham every September.
