I have check on here for help with my non staring TJ 4.0 auto. I had left it standing for about 9 months and the battery was stone dead, once I put a fully charged battery on it cranked over for ages and eventually started. Drove it on to the drive and parked it when I tried to start it a few days later it would crank but not start. The immobiliser light is on constant so I reckon I have the standard immo / pcm fault. is there any thing else I can try to get it going? what info do I need to check when ordering a usa spec pcm? Thanks for any help.

Hi.
When I bought my PCM from the US the advice I got was to match the year, engine, gearbox and the colours of the block connectors.
I paid $70 plus shipping, found it on eBay (.com, not .co.uk).

Thanks Yakko. is it really just a case of plug and play? no coding or resetting? cheers Iain

any more info on this?

I am assuming you tried disconnecting the battery and reconnecting?

Before you do anything. Get a full scan done . This will be your starting point before pulling your truck apart

Check the easy stuff first. E.g. Have you tried replacing the battery in the immobiliser remote?
When my immobiliser is still on, my car will start and run for about 2 seconds before cutting out. Is this what you're getting or does it not run at all?

hi, I have swapped the remote batteries. jeep wont run at all now, will turn over. no spark at plugs. red light is on solid.
Thanks again

My LED has came on constant a couple of times in the past. In both instances I believe it cleared after pressing and holding the button on the control whilst cranking. Engine started and normal operation resumed. I have a Thatcham Cat 1 alarm too and that needs to be turned off first or the Jeep immobiliser doesn't like to turn off.

Thanks JJ I will try that.

turn ignition on, red light will be constant, when it goes out press unlock then try to start
try a few times but if it doesn't start PCM might need flashing.
This happened to me after Jeep was stood for a while with no 12 volt and Kev, Bubba had to tow me to local Jeep dealer to sort
