Title: Grand Cherokee 2003 2.7crd starting issue
Post by: Merlywdd on May 12, 2018, 01:07:09 PM
Hopefully someone can offer some wisdom, for some reason she will only start on easy start hot or cold, ive checked the fuel system no air, she runs like a watch but will not start without easy start was fine a couple days ago. My only guess so far is that the injectors aren’t getting a signal to open when cranking but when she fires on the easy start they get a signal, would this be the fuel pressure sensor on the front of the rail?

I’d appreciate some advice as it’s a real head scratcher

Cheers

Alun

i think you will find, that one or more of your injectors, need replacing/rebuilt.
you really need to get it scanned, preferably at a bosch diesel specialist

Thanks for the input, but if the injectors were faulty wouldn’t I see that in poor running or loss of performance?

nope !
it only takes one of them to be loose a bit of pressure to screw things up.
it could also be the pressure sensor on the fuel rail
a bleed off test could tell which injector is at fault.

Get a proper diagnostic done on it. You can waste an awful lot of time and money guessing.

Please. I can put up with it now while it starts and runs but still not right.
