Hi

Want to do oil and filter in my auto box.

Got dip stick 1220 mm off eBay but 400 too long.

So need to check after fill up. Does anyone know the length of the dip stick.

Or tell me how you did yours.

It’s not simple to explain - send me a message with you email and I’ll send you some documents. I did mine by driving it to get it hot, checking temperature with an Laser thermometer then measured the depth of oil in pan and read off chart. Change oil then repeat the temperature and level check when you refill.

Done it now and long over due... Brown instead of red.

Watched a few YouTube videos and was tempted to pay th £230 at jeep but glad I never.

Measured depth when hot and cold with dip stick I got off eBay as reference.


Luckily my pan comes with drain plug..
Drained oil
Removed pan and filter.
Let it drip for 3 hours but honestly wish I'd left it over night.

Fitted New filter and gasket.
Wasn't happy about torque setting at 70lb as they are small screws so just did them tight enough.

Now the manual says 7.4ltr.
I only got out about 4.2ltr so that's what I put back in watching level as I did.
The next day after a good drive decided to drain a bit more as I got 6ltr of oil and wanted to put as much good stuff in.

All done now including diffs and transfer box.. bloody dear oil ... Lol
