Stainless Cat-Back for Jeep XJ
« on: May 22, 2016, 10:03:31 AM »

New to the forum and a fairly new Jeep owner here. Picked up my XJ a few weeks ago and have green laned it plenty already. Now I'm on to modding it.

Can anyone recommend a good stainless steel cat-back exhaust that doesn't cost daft money? I've found Magnaflow and Borla for more than £450, but I know there have been others out there around the £250 mark, but there's no stock anywhere.

You may be better out finding a place local to you to build a custom one

Fit a chery bomb as a replacement to the standard silencer, min of 24" long, 3" OD on silencer and tube to suit exisitng pipework. The silencer can be mild steel or stainless.

exhaust sound is nice and throaty but not loud in the jeep interior

or ring these guys tell them what you want and the will swage to inlet and outlet to suit the existing pipework

If you happen to be in the east Anglia area, try these guys at Ipswich :

http://demandengineering.co.uk/

I've not used them yet but a friend did for his 98 Rover 820 and they made a superb job of it. It cost him about £380 if memory serves correctly and given the exhaust on the XJ is not only much simpler but shorter as well, i would think the labour costs would be reduced and certainly the materials would be less.

If you do go there, i for one would be very interested in the result as i'm thinking of doing the same.

Try 4 play jeep, he can get banks which I strongly recommend, although not stocked, it's on a 4 week lead time from the US
