Title: CJ7 / AMC 360 engine angle
Post by: djrr6 on November 08, 2017, 11:09:01 PM
Bit of an odd question but can anyone with a v8 in a CJ7 tell me the rough angle of fall from the front of the engine to the back of the jeep?

I’m making a new gearbox mount as it sits far too high with the new gear box and wondered what amount of angle the engine sits at as Googled it to various answers but seems to be a minimum of 10-15 degree fall on the engine??

Cheers

Not sure but mine wouldn't be far off level

Mine can't be tilted more than about 5 degrees

Nice one cheers guys.

I think the engine will be relatively level as it is but as new gearbox is a lot bigger it’s tipping the engine forwards as the gearbox skid plate makes it sit higher than previous.

I will level it and see where the tub sits when drop that on as suspect it will be close to the bulkhead

every engine i have installed whether in a vehicle or on a test bed has always been level and that includes the modern lumps as well
