Hello there, As is usual I found you orrible lot through a need for help ( although I'm very happy I did find yall).
So here goes,
Ive snapped the cam belt on my 2.0crd in my 57 plate patriot.
I need to work out how to identify the head so can find a replacement for it (as assuming valve damage etc),
I found a couple of heads listed on flea bay but don't want to throw £300+ away on a gamble. Especially in these tough times.
Any help advice or suggestions very welcomed. With thanks in advance, paul.

Hello Paul & welcome.
We're not that orrible, we don't bite ..... much :003:
The Patriot is not very common in this neck of the woods. Mostly old iron FSJ's, CJ's, YJ's & TJ's and Cherokees XJ, KJ & Grands ZJ, WJ & WK1 and a few JK's in their various guises.
Best is to put your faith in reputable head refurbishment/replacement companies or Jeep/Chrysler breakers.
A quick google will throw up a few.

And yes, don't put your faith in fleabay unless they are a reputable breaker or outfit.

I believe it’s a VW tdi engine so really common. Most garages should be able to work on it and get the right parts for you. Similar for parts dealers - better than eBay!
