Help or advice needed. I have a 2001 XJ Diesel which runs OK revs well whilst running also at tick over. Turbo has good boost. The car lack oomph it will drive OK and rev through the range in town but once you go to push on it lacks power. The garage have looked it over and have said its the Turbo Boost senor...views please as if it s ii am having a devils job obtaining one. Also does the XJ have an ability to have its codes read. Any Advice would be very much appreciated Rgds A NEWBEE

Look at fuel and air filters first.

It I a simple engine, if not in limp mode it only needs air and fuel - restrict those and you limit it.

With a blocked fuel filter it will drive OK - until you need more power, say hill etc and it will crawl up it lol

check the turbo inlet pipe as these have a coil spring insert which did tend to collapse on the mk1 version. collapse of the pipe results in power loss due to restricted air flow
