-
Yes, yes it does.
Nice!
-
yes
-
that's just stupid
-
you realy need to release your spare stock to me in the spirit of the season
-
nice but i dont know about them gay wheels
-
Nothing GHAY about stazworks double beadlock wheels.....
And Wagers has first dibs on the overstock - logistically he is closer.
-
true but he simply wont apreceate them the way i would
-
dont care what they called they still look gay. they silver for a start  send me the lith i am hungry
-
I have not seen the Lithuanian - I believe he is on a house call in southern Ireland........
-
and i was on for a scrap... i will have to pick a fight on the local pensioners who i saw smashin up the phone box yesterday
-
Some scrap - the Lithuanian will probably pull that pixie ZZ top beard of yours and it would all be over.
-
(http://http://i95.photobucket.com/albums/l133/Corm2005/Project%20Installs/UK%20Buggy/Picture165.jpg)
Very nice, so what gearing you got for those mothers.
-
Some scrap - the Lithuanian will probably pull that pixie ZZ top beard of yours and it would all be over.
 its been tried before
-
Very nice, so what gearing you got for those mothers.
Only 4.56 but I have the following............
brand new crate ls1 with Delphi computer rated @410 h/p
built th400 (upgraded Kevlar clutches, sprag, deep pan,art carr reverse manual valvebody w/compression braking and 32 spline output)
art carr 2200 stall rock crawling torque converter
stak 2 speed monster box(5.44)
As you can see it's a power house.
-
aah fooe. 4 popper is what ya need
-
Very nice, so what gearing you got for those mothers. 2200 stall, do they all run that much?
-
That is what was recommended - have I made a mistake?
-
That is what was recommended - have I made a mistake?
To be honest i dont know, it does sound like its gonna bang in the clutches, and your not gonna have any drive untill you hit 2200 but it should certainly launch.
Have you guys got a rock crawling thing going on over there in the iom?
Edit; wont you have a lot less engine braking on the decent(just a thought)
-
aah fooe. 4 popper is what ya need
are you sure the 4 popper has the power to turn those wheels let alone go through mud and rock
-
This link looks very informative,
http://www.off-roadweb.com/tech/0710or_ ... speed.html (http://www.off-roadweb.com/tech/0710or_torque_converter_tech/stall_speed.html)
-
It's OK then as I thought.
-
It's OK then as I thought.
Yep looks that way, from what i can get reading between the lines, you have to get the stall speed matching the peak tourqe of the engine, so theoretically if your peak torque is at 2200 rpm it should kick ass
-
Yes not forgetting the extra oil cooler required...
-
true but he simply wont apreceate them the way i would
:finga: :finga: :finga: :finga: :finga: :finga: :finga: :finga: :finga: :finga: :finga: :finga: :finga: Bubba
Ever appreciating of my very good and extremely good looking friend Mr top man Peter Henry
Bum Lick Waggers
-
with deepest respect i do not think they will fit your mini however i am dedicated to help fellow birtys so if you ship them to my place then bring the mini and i will see to it they fit ....my chainsaw is thy servant
-
Peter, what do you think of your stazwork wheels????
they're at the top of my list for a set of wheels in a couple of months(when i have the money)
for what i can see they're good quality and a decent price compared to everyone else!
what size rim are yours??
-
Mine are 16.5 rims but all custom made - you will have to book a space for production well in advance unless you are willing to pay a premium to jump the 8/10 week leed time.
To be honest it's not been easy as I had a problem with the Back spacing and a further delay.
They are very heavy but Hard Core for sure.
-
thankyou very much,
the waiting time won't be a problem cos once ive spent the money on them i won't be able to afford to run it for another month anyway
ill be going for 16 x 10 but not sure if i should maybe go for 12's
ive currently got a set of 42inch irocs but eventually ill be wanting to go up to a set of 44's (hence the reason for 12's)
what width rim are your boggers on? any recomendations???
-
Nice looking wheels.but you deffo need to prop it against something a little better for perspective.I like the valve guards, but what do you thin kthe chances of them ever earning their money given that they are set soooo far back??!!
-
nice set up! mmmmmm ls1
tyres are alright too, still exploring the capability of mine so far i would say they are mental!
-
Hmmmm off for paint.....
And yes it will be SILVER.
-
that's pretty :118:
-
do you have any photos of the back end of the buggy, trying to workout the rear tube work on mine.

:icon_winkle:
-
yes peter this is all very wonderfull but when the hell will we get the chance to see it in the metal you are just teasing us all
Patience - Clayton is doing this under mates rates, so he works on it in his spare time.
-
how do you cope with all the waiting
-
how do you cope with all the waiting
With all that is happening in the current climate I soon forget about other projects, I have allegedly been tinkering with the TGB lately!!!!
-
does the frier have anything to tinker with these days since you bought your his your jeep off him
-
I believe the Friar has purchased - but it's not for me to say!!!!!
-
are you 2 three legged persons coming to cheapfest then ?
whatever your driving :icon_winkle:
-
ML500 (aka the dirty dog car) or the Mafia......Steve you need to ask the Friar as he now swings both ways!!!!!
I will be attending even if I fly in for the day - time is something in short supply for me right now.
-
them MLs look about as butch as the andrex puppy
-
Still has teeth....34"

Not happy with the front clip so still work in progress.
-
whats the front clip of?
-
last i heard it was liberty cherokee clip
-
Front clip was Liberty and now JK but it doesn't look right - post a photo when I get home.
-
go willys jk looks ok but just the grill on its own is a bit snoutish
-
The Buggy with the JK clip...
I like this....
Looking at twisted for a custom clip.....
http://www.twistedcustoms.biz/products.aspx?i=0&c=7 (http://www.twistedcustoms.biz/products.aspx?i=0&c=7)
-
like i said pig snout
-
alot of it comes from how tappered or dovetailed the front end is. i love the idea of front end dove tails, but too much ends up without the room to make the front clip look like more than a pig nose. check the measurements on how much room you have than i can tape mine or photochop it and give you a better idea of what itll look like.
liberty front ends look hot, but they are a dime a dozen these days in the states, so they are dieing out. if you can use the liberty front and rear fenders....... then itll look even more tits - gives a baja flared fender look.
-
he talks sense
-
I'm sort of in a bind over this - I have even considered changing to a G-Class clip for obvious reasons but the front will not support this.
They have made a aluminum clip to show me the tapper...
-
From the angle looks like a WW2 Flatty grill shell might be persuaded to fit (small headlamps). Might have to lose a slat or two....
-
i think it rather ugly
-

get me the measurements of the front of the hood, and the widest opening of the grill support. both side to side and ill see if i can mock something up with my tj grill and give you ideas of how much youll be cutting out of it and if it will end up pig nosed like the jk
-
have you considered going the Icelandic route, i.e. flat panel with only essential holes and then paint a representation of the grill marque you want, could even have two , a G class and a real Jeep :icon_biggrin:
-
Top view....
-
when you gettin this thing over here? i might make it back to the states before you get it. then i can swipe parts off it :icon_super:
no really - i thought u were using ori struts?
-
They are old photos it does have ORI now - also have the 42" IROK's still.
-
Can you tell what it is yet???
-
it aint silver wich is a good start. the engine looks sweet i would love to hear that thing.
-

-
Can you tell what it is yet???
JEEP PORN :icon_biggrin:
-

-

-

It's a Shaffer Diablo chassis not sure right now about the tube size/specification.....More photos soon.
-
And another....
-
probably a silly question, but how much is 'jeep' ?
-
headlights :003:
but its makin me feel horny anyway
-
Don't think its supposed to be a Jeep as such, more like its supposed to be a buggy :003:
-

:hysterical: :hysterical: :hysterical: :hysterical: :hysterical: :hysterical: :hysterical: :hysterical: :hysterical: :hysterical: :hysterical:
-
ya know people keep pokin and pissin because "it aint a jeep", "well its a buggy not a real rig"
i dont care who you are from a fabricator and an over enthusiast to the sport
RESPECT
but brother they made a mistake..........................................steering wheel is on the wrong side
-
question wasn't meant as a piss take, was seriously intrested if any Jeep parts were used
-
In the true spirit of the event it will look "jeep like" when I have finished - just like it did when I started the project - it was also south paw then!!!!
-
in the view of JJ, how many NASCAR's are actually the street car they are supposed to be ? none just a space frame chassis withe ally body work.
same goes fro IOM's buggy. super strong but will look like a jeep. As for cost it is as much as you want it to be.
-
Nice engineering... You wanted a Jeep face to it I believe.... a few posts ago........
Came across an article about sand rails Glamis and 2 wheel drive sand rails with 1000 horse nitrous up the dunes.... etc
Most of the tube frame rigs built by Larry Minor and all with a Jeep 'face' might be worth a 'google'
-
I'm still struggling with the clip on the Buggy - this is the latest, not sure about it to be honest......Its just a mockup at this stage.
-
can you not cut a triangular section out of the middle of a normal bonnet? I think that would look better.
They are right tho, steering wheels on the 'gay' side
-
I appreciate it is only a mock up, but I suspect the cardboard and its associated colour makes it look so/so.I think if that was made from pre-preg carbon it would look spot on.
Good luck
-
You need to change the steering wheel.
pre-preg carbon would look spot on but totally imparctical for offraoding. any side impact will break it resulting in a scrap panel that cant be repaired. light ally sheet or tin which can be knocked back into shape or taken off and repaired.

If it is made properly the mounts will give long before the carbon.
-
Carbon sounds great but I drove Clyro last year with a Guy who had carbon arches on his bobtail Range Rover. He smashed two trying to get to a punch. He runs a fabrication business and made them himself and even he admitted that it wasn't the right material - something that can be re-worked with a hammer would be best.
As for the look, I think it's good. Most buggys have a slightly odd 'face' in my opinion, just get it done and use it a few times. It can then be changed if really necessary or I suspect you'll have other more functional changes you'll want to make.
-
:imwitstupid:
Just go with it, stop faffing, get the fecker over here and wheel it's tits off :steeringwheel::003: :003: :003:
You can feck about with grilles later, surely actually driving it is more of a priority?
-
Just go with it, stop faffing, get the fecker over here and wheel it's tits off
Has anybody considered that maybe Peter has plans to take many long holidays to the states to wheel his truck there, as its being built there, where offroading and rockcrawling is smiled upon and not put a close second as a crime to murder like this country before shipping it home! I would! and take my time over the planning so I could get as many test trips in to make sure the truck was just right before bringing her home! :greggmo: :003: :steeringwheel:
-
you hav a good point
-
Well that's alright so long as it doesn't mean we have to stop offering our opinions & abusing him accordingly :003: :003:
Come on Mr H, whats the plan :017: Is the beast coming home or is it gonna be a holiday ride :icon_eek:
We are only jealous :icon_jook:
-
It's going to be exchanged with the Mafia (getting portals) it's cheaper for the container this very year!!!!!
-
Seems a plan, so either way you have something UK based as well as something Stateside :icon_winkle:
& they call me Flash :003: :icon_jook:

interesting will you be lowering the suspension
-
interesting will you be lowering the suspension
That is part of my plan - 5" is simply too much lift on a Wangler in my option 3" is optimum for EU conditions.....Droop is the answer NOT LIFT!!!!
-
That is part of my plan - 5" is simply too much lift on a Wangler in my option 3" is optimum for EU conditions.....Droop is the answer NOT LIFT!!!!
i wouldnt go that far, but more simply each has its rightful place
lift is for fitting bigger tires and not dragging your belly on everything
-
This is the Mafia with 37" boggers logically the 5" lift was required - after many years I now believe it's too high - as you say it's not about dragging your guts about the place but balancing what you have!!!!
-
5" lift might have been req if the body work was lift standard, but i personaly think jeeps look better with highlined fenders front and rear. then with proper bump stops, you dont need loads of up travel.
but 40s + tj + portal axles........... it wont work mate, complete crap idea.
-
Ok this is kinda how it's going to look...
-
Nice :icon_twisted:
Don't think you'll be damaging any bodywork.......ever!! :icon_super:

of course we called them 'Spaz-mobiles' :icon_twisted:
-
It was a lighter shade of blue and the older the Spaz-Mobile the more faded the blue!!!! I'm guessing 29" has pissed on a few of them.
