Wobbly Column
« on: September 08, 2010, 08:49:59 PM »

Need some advice, will a LHD fixed steering column fit in place of an adjustable RDH unit? both are floor change manuals.

After the weekend lil yella now has 2” up and down as well of left and right movement when locked. So also now in the market for a CJ steering column, want to go for a fixed rather than an adjustable.

not sure that went to plan...

did the 4 torx bolts up sunday, you were right they were loose. driving back from the dentist today and the column collapsed. no steering, no ignition and soiled pants, back home now thanks to a tow from a m8 and about to start stripping down the tilt column, but original question still stands, will the rigid LHD column from tonka fit in lil yella? need to get it drivable for work

thats what happens when someone pulls on the column, if i remember correctly you may be able to get a rebuild kit and parts from an  vauxhaul senator as they used the same column sheathed in different cover.

having a mare trying to find a replacement column, now need one for Tonka as its own one is fitted in lil yella, but did stumble across this article anyone tried this or have an opinion? still would rather a fixed column but if it has to be a tilt then i want a cheap one
