Cooling fan
« on: August 01, 2012, 08:46:34 PM »

On a 2.8 CRD 2005 Liberty, the engine electric cooling fan is running all the time, to the point that it stops the engine reaching normal operating temperature. I have turned the aircon switch off in the cab and it makes no difference.
Although the aircon doesnt work either when switched on the clutch on the compressor doesnt engage does it just want gassing or is there something else afoot?

Any ideas would be gratefully received  :003:

Normally if the temperature sender fails they default to high temp signal switching the fans on. Get this checked or change it first

I have ordered a replacement temperature sender, its simple and cheap enough.
Would it still be this, even though the gauge is rising, but only to a 1/4 as the electric fan is running all the time
