Add-a-leaf
« on: May 04, 2006, 10:50:42 AM »

Probably a numpty question but here goes   but I normally end up giving a hand and want to give them as much of a headstart as possible - Service Manager ain't happy 'cos it took five hours to fit the Daystar kit 'cos was a bastard to get the bushings out of the spring eyes with them on the Jeep so he lost a mechanic for the whole afternoon  :smt093

Hi Adrian.
I put a add a leaf on my xj. I had to chisel the old clamps off, new ones came with the kit. I don't see how a leaf could come out of the side as when its all put together the U-bolts go around the whole pack. Also leave the main leaf in place as getting the front eye bolt out could end you up in a world of pain, the trouble is the captive nut doesn't stay captive.  the other one is not to do what I did and put  both packs together on the jeep then realise the you've put the new leaf in the wrong place
