ZJ Mirror Glass
« on: December 30, 2005, 10:53:02 AM »

My drivers side mirror changed colour to a brownie / goldie tint the other week, got so bad couldn`t see thro it,it all came apart very quickly / easily, and a load of oil type substance drained out of it,pressume that was the anti dazzle stuff..electrical connections to the back of the mirror had all corroded and broken away,I suppose thats why it started playing up,any way managed to get it all back together and can now see thro it.
I would assume that the whole unit would be very expensive to replace..

The liquid crystal layer has failed. This makes the mirror go dark when an electrical current is applied. You can buy a new glass assembly but they're over £100. Off to the breaker's I think.......

agree with Bubba on this one, he wanted 60 notes for a rear light unit & a new one from a stealer is only 70 +vat

hence now i have a breaker of my own!!!!!

Phone Adam at GT 4x4. 01268 584585 and tell him Mike from Jeepclub sent you. In Essex but I'm sure you could persuade him to mail you one.

£66 is probably still cheaper than the dealer would charge you.....

Looks like the guy has more tho , so might be worth emailing him???
