Zj drivers door switches not working
« on: February 21, 2016, 12:20:36 AM »

I've just realised that my drivers door switches etc don't work. I can't use any of them. Also the door doesn't lock from the fob. The lights are still on the switches at night but I get no function. It doesn't appear to have a separate fuse. Where do I look now?

They all do that. Just disconnect the battery for a few seconds to reset the door module.

Mine did that and window got stuck down......usually wire chaffing through door to body where it goes down to panel by your right foot.

No choice but to check those wires....

Had to get second hand door module to cure mine as it kept rearing its ugly head......with stuck window usually on a wet day :jpshakehead:

I'll give the battery a quick go, but sounds like I'll have to dig about in the wiring. Thanks.

Taking off the battery worked! I should have more faith in simple fixes.

Unfortunately it didn't fix my grumbling rear axle. That's gunna be a little more tricky.

I think that will need a hardware change rather than a software reboot!  :icon_winkle: :icon_biggrin:

Sure did! It took me 4 hours to do Wednesday evening. It's brilliant, all I can hear now is tyre noise.

I hope you've got a nice, warm, well lit garage to do that in! Wednesday was nice through the day but the temperature dropped faster and lower than the light levels when the sun went down!

I was fortunate enough to be able to do it at work in our machine packing bay. Warm and dry but no ramp! It would have been much faster had I used the forklift to pick it up. Shame I couldn't as the room wasn't tall enough and it was far do dark outside.

I did mine on my drive.....
Not that difficult but the bloody thing weighs a ton.....
Only problem I had after was the ABS. It kept kicking in.....
Who knew that you had to set the sensors at a certian gap.... (Not Me)....  :017: :017:

The hardest part for me was getting the old inner pinion bearing off the pinion shaft. I had to grind through it. I sheared tip of my hydraulic gear puller trying to get it off. Still all done now.
