Hi all,
Happened a couple of times now, turn the key and the starter motor does not engage but makes this horrible screeching sound.
Always goes on the second try though. Truck's done 95.000 miles.
Might not know the right terminology but the bendix makes the litttle cog pop out and engage the thingemyjig that makes the engine go round.....right ??
The fact that this whatchemecallit all of a sudden does not do this once in a while....means that :
a) startermotor fooked...or at least on the way out ?
b) carbon bristles worn...need replacing ?
c) just cleaning out ?
d) all of the above ?
