As per the title, the rear diff on my 96 4.0 Grand Cherokee is pretty much on its last legs. Since getting my ZJ 4 years ago, I've made cleaning out and replacing the diff oil part of my regular routine, doing it near enough immediately whenever I feel it starting to "clunk" on tight turns (usually when reversing into my driveway), though recently this job has been getting closer together each time it needs done, to the point now where I only just drained and changed it about 4 weeks ago and the clunking is back already.
I'm assuming I'm now at the point of looking for a new diff etc for the back end. Does anyone know of anywhere (ideally central Scotland area, but can go further if it can be done same day) which can either recondition my current setup or can replace it? I try and do most work myself normally, but think this job is a bit much for me to tackle.

its the lsd/trackloc plates worn out :icon_winkle: replace them and all should be ok

good point - have you been using LSD additive or oil??

Is it a big job to replace the plates? Been using Redline 75W140 gear oil.

thats a fancy oil for sure but i dont think its lsd oil

A quick gander at the Redline site shows it does have friction modifier for LSDs
