Hi chaps
1993 Jeep GC Wagoneer
Oil sensor replacement - wiring
I am looking at the oils sensor and wondered if anyone could tell me wether the two wires that come out of the oil sensor (hexagonal nut on the side of the sump below the starter motor) are positive and negative or are they both positive or are they both negative.
I cant seem to see any colours on the wires.
Reason is the notorius malfunctioning oil sensor on the 1993 model is playing up and I was wondering if I could cut the two wires and put them together.
Any help really appreciated.
Cheers

and pray sir, why do you wish to do such a thing? :017: :017: :017:

I wouldnt cut them and short them out as this could have issues if your engine did loose oil pressure and you only found this out by a large bang!!! However most manufacturers monitor the pressure by the zero volt, Modern cars use the can bus or similar to monitor such things.

two wire system one is positive and the other negative, just wire it up and see what happens, it will either show a pressure or not. wiring the two toegther is not a good idea and doesn't gain you anything.
