Title: Cherokee CRD Sport 2006 stuck in park...
Post by: rekab69 on April 24, 2011, 10:04:45 AM
Hi Guys,

Upgraded (or so we thought) to a CRD sport, wife parked up in a car park and left it in neutral, as I was sitting in the passenger seat I placed it into park, engine off hand brake on, car stationary

After shopping went to select Drive and the gear shift wouldn't budge, rocked car, turned engine off and on again, foot on brake, hand brake on or off...

In the end brute force moved the shifter into drive, drove home but now can't select park....

Any ideas..?

Cheers

Dave..

there is a electrical locking pin on the shifter end that disengages when you apply the footbrake, methinks that was playing up, it will be a bit fecked now if you forced it out of park. Strip off the trim and you shoud see it at the base of the shifter
