ABS problem
« on: January 02, 2011, 04:45:31 PM »

Hi
I have just had my front offside UJ replaced, how ever I now have a problem with the brakes.
When i first start it the ABS light comes on then goes off, if I start to drive and then brake there is a grinding noise/feeling through the pedal the car stops but doesn't feel right. If I accelerate up to 25/30 then the light comes back on and the brakes work fine.
The guy who did my UJ is unfamiliar with jeeps but offered to do the UJ anyway and he is not sure what the problem is.
Does any one have any ideas or a starting point.
Thanks

Richard

He either damaged the speed sensor while removing the shaft, or he broke the tone ring on the shaft itself.

Cheers. is that really bad and expensive or not so bad. Do you think that is pretty much definite one of these that you have suggested.

Thanks
