Was all MOTD and ready and then.....bit of a family crisis and its the Missus b'day..... But it's the other loss that's hit us.....

Another Birty member to lose their dog.....12 years and 9 months of friendship

Still in pieces about him which is why I haven't posted but now you know......

So RIP. Ozzy the Bearded Collie.

Sorry to hear about poorly and lost dogs, I know it will happen but just don't want to consider it because it's too hard.

Mike, I'm sure his Lordship is coming, I'll prompt him.

Thanks guys it does help....

I know lots of you have had a loss of your best mate but it's only when it happens to you that you realise what a massive hole they leave in your life.

Guess I'll just bury myself in work and welding shit to more shit :icon_super:

I'm up for this Cuffy, I'll be trailering the TJ there, will there be any brave folk camping?
I'd sleep in the back of my van like I did at cheapfest but only if others are camping, if not is everyone in the same hotel/ b&b? Is there plenty of parking?
And finally I understand the TJ will need a MOT, anything else?

Ezz, a few of the Jeep guys stay at the Abercrave Inn http://www.abercraveinn.co.uk/

There's also the Ancient Briton Pub down the road http://ancientbriton.co.uk/

If either of those places are full, then consider the Craig Y Nos Castle http://www.craigynoscastle.com/

There are also a few other B&B's in the area which may also be open.

Ancient Briton has a big car park behind which can't be seen easily by people driving past. I stayed ther last November with trailer. Abercrave is a bit tight on parking from memory but I've never stayed there with a trailer.

Hello

Abercrave Inn is full as of a weeks back.  As James suggests, try the Ancient Britain.

We don't organise camping in the winter, showcaves is shut and weather to unpredictable.

Craig-y-Nos can be expensive, however they do (or possibly did) dormitory accommodation that's pretty reasonable, ok if there is a group of you.  Also carpark is pretty big.

Only requirement is vehicles are MOT'd.

Before I book, is anyone else that's going staying at the ancient Britain?

Also is it safe leaving the van and trailer at the site during the day?

A few people do bring their vehicles on trailers, which are left in the car park all day, and removed at night.

Ted is planning to stay in the car park / meeting area at the site, so security shouldn't be a problem during the day.

Trailers aren't normally a problem during the day. I used to chain mine to the tow vehicle but that was probably overkill with Ted around.

The Ancient Briton is only a 10 minute walk from the Abercrave Inn so if people are eating at the Abercrave you can easily join them and walk back to the Ancient Briton.
