Any good Jeep Specialists near Derby ?
« on: November 11, 2019, 01:43:21 PM »

Who here who can recommend a Jeep Specialist in the Derby area?

Need the air leak into my fuel system sorting it's got to be somewhere between the inlet to the low pressure pump on the engine block and the main fuel pipe on the bulkhead. So looking at all connections near the engine block.

I have ruled out the rear tank connectors.

When I lived in the UK, I used:

Wood Lane Garage
23 Wood Lane

Horsley Woodhouse
Derby
DE7 6BN

David Earnshaw, a former Jeep employee who has owned this garage a few years, and has many Jeep specialist tools in his collection.

I did visit this garage when I first bought our WJ 5 years ago with a rear suspension issue. He identified that the rear ARB bushes needed replacement also said the rear brake pipe also needed replacing due to corrosion. I was complaining about the really poor ride on B roads.

I lost confidence in the diagnosis on two counts, firstly he failed to notice my vehicle was fitted with an aftermarket ADO rear ARB - this was the reason for the very stiff rear suspension & bouncy ride when unoaded.  Secondly the rear brake pipe was sound - I checked it  myself at home & also asked my MoT garage to check it out - it was all good!

At present I am minded to get these three fuel pipes changed by my local garage as link below.

A little late to the party, but Peak Jeep in Chesterfield is the place to go (as Bazz mentioned).

Funny enough, I'm sat in Chesterfield now waiting whilst they do some work on my XJ.

I had the three low pressure plastic fuel pipes replaced - problem solved by local garage - pipes genuine MB ones from e-bay.
