Guys, when did they first make RHD CJ6' in the UK?
There's a guy claiming to have a 56 CJ6 I'm Ireland but I believe it's just a butchered CJ5?
-
pictures would be helpful 1955 was the the first start of cj6 but in right hand in the uk was 73 Australia may have had right hookers before that
but i think your man is very like wrong do you know any specs ?
-
Not sure if this will be clear, looks completely butchered to me
-
Thanks Fran,
I just don't want to see some poor fecker get done on miss information (I mean buyer)
Now mines defo not all original but at least I know it was a genuine CJ6

I've seen 6's with the step at the back like that, but they were ex-South African military.
They were RHD from the factory but don't think they were that old, mid to late '60s I would have guessed.
I think they were also made in RHD for Israel, KSA & a few other frequently warring nations around the Med.
A 105mm (M40?) recoilless rifle used to be mounted in the back so the chassis should still have the additional stiffeners if it's not been hacked about too much.
Have a look here, the CJ 5/6 as they call it is the first vehicle mentioned.

Edit:
Also got a military tow hitch to seal the matter!

That does look similar and I can see some resemblence but the one in the SA photo at least has a correct rear wheel arch and the step on the back happens after the panel work. I still feel this has been butchered by someone that has little to no skills

Yup, as you say, it does look a bit suspect.
Fuel filler is in a different place too.
