Dastardised Landy
« on: March 26, 2005, 11:57:17 AM »

How easy would it be to strip out a 4l HO, gearbox & transfer case and dump it in a landy.
Just that I have access to a rusted up XJ for nowt & have a 110 with a crap engine. I am quite happy making up a loom to make it work but do you reckon it would all fit?
Would everyone hate me for doing it :?:

Any thing will go if you're willing to put in the time and effort.

There's enough room in that 110 for the 4.0, it's just the running gear that might be a problem, i think it would work out a labour of love if you did do it.

might be a lot of work when you could just v8 it if you want more power. think a landie is a waste of a good jeep engine, think of all the half shafts you will have to buy.

You might find that the 4.0l lump is too heavy and will overload your front axle.
Best you give it to me then, so I can stick it in my YJ. :applaudit:
