Only 4 hours up the road for me.  Would like to see you guys.  BD get your skates on.

Details, cost, apart from the car park is there a little mud puddle for the shiny's ?  :003:

Edit : broke the news to her indoors as a .....romantic break in the Baskerville Hall Hotel.....was well received  :icon_super:  :icon_super:

She can sit in the 'free' sauna & pool while I have a look at your mud plugging.

Would it be prudent to book now ?    Any 'Birty' rates going you know of ?

A plan is most certainly developping........ :greggmo:

Check that the pool and sauna will be open.  I don't think they were open when I camped there last April.

I was also told that the showers are a health hazard, and the rooms not much better.

This is an alternative place to stay: http://www.baskervillearms.co.uk/ (http://www.baskervillearms.co.uk/) (link taken from the J33P website).

steve is right. this sight is a bit more geared up for the more modded motors. its not that un modded motors wont drive some of it its just that it can be damaging and some parts of the site are very tough. but having said that its not just about off roading cos there is a good weekend away and a piss up and there are some nice places localy to go shoppin and all that.

Cool, thanks Bubba! Funny, I spent much of my youth from 16-18 at Clyro. Used to go there on my moped to date the local girls. We met up at the pub there where I'd worked out when the fruit machine paid out. I'd get there with 1 pound spending money, wait until the fruit machine was getting close to pay out and then play it until I got out the £10 jackpot! :003: I used to do this a couple of times each time I was there (most weekends) and by this method and by playing pool for money there I used to fund my weekends and most of the next week! :icon_super: No choice, really, as you couldn't buy girls drinks all night with a pound, even in those days! :003:

When I first went to the site in 2002, I was driving a standard cherokee, possibley fitted with 29" mud tyres.  I could drive the main tracks, although the steep hill did kill my handbrake.

I was there in April last year, and the site certainly has changed.  There is plenty of mud and narrow tracks, which would certainly result in some scratches on the wings.

Well, I stumbeled over a roll of this stuff that they use to protect stainless steel surfaces, like fridges & stuff.  To prevent scratches and damage during transport
Its not really sticky back if you know what I mean.  Could use this to protect the most vulnerable exposed areas.

Anyway will see today if inlaws can have muppets & mutt and then book lodgings.

I believe when Jeep ran their expensive laning experience weekends, they covered your Jeep in cling film (or similar) to help protect the paintwork.

Obviously, the vehicle needs to be clean beforehand.

I might try and replace the painted wheel arches on my JK with unpainted ones if I decide to take it off-roading, as well as replace the indicators with ones which are flush to the panel.

its more about safety than costs to be honest. i really need a good amount of the more kitted motors for this site cos it is heavy goin and if somethin goes bad it essential that there are the motors to deal with stuff if that makes sens.at least two or three with winches. i wont have my usual motor which has almost everythin on or in it from first aid stuff to glue to torches and fire extinguisher and all that shit. as event organiser i am responsible for everyone on site and that is quite scary at times with the nature of what we get up to. it really feels shit to have to pull an event but it is about us all being as safe as we can make it and this just cant be done this time. this site can be very dangerous and i just wont risk peoples well being. dont worry though guys we will just have to go for the later event at this venue.

Fair enough Greg. Makes sense to have the kit there to deal with stuff. Oh well on to the next one.
