Title: WJ 2.7CRD cleaning up fault codes
Post by: DarthLowen on March 03, 2021, 05:31:14 PM
Hi guys,

after (finally) getting rid of the hard starting issues, I was thinking to clean up the remaining error codes (read from the dash). But before I buy parts, I'd like to get your opinion on these:

P0702: after a search on Google, I should be replacing the gear selector PCB. This thing appears to be quite expensive though. Is this the correct action to take and if so, does anyone know a cheaper & trustworthy source for these? (Part nr 52104468AA)
P0836: transfer case position switch, replace the sensor? How can I test the sensor, It appears to be an analog switch that gives a range of resistances depending on how deep you push the pin in? (Part nr 5083138AA)

I also found a site stating that this sensor could be the cause of the P0702 fault?

Cheers,
Nic.

The P0702 code is generic and you'll need a reader that can read transmission codes to find out what the actual transmission code is.

This is position/resistance values chart for testing the switch...
