Jeep WJ 4.7 misfire and loss of power after deep water
« on: August 05, 2021, 12:17:21 PM »

So I drove my WJ through some deep water at Billing off road show and on the 2nd lap it stalled and developed a misfire and I had a yellow taxi home. The air filter stayed dry so no water in the air intake.  Since then I have cleaned the throttle body, replaced the IAC valve, replaced throttle position sensor, replaced fuel filter, cleaned the engine bay earths, fitted 8 new spark plugs and ignition coils, changed the oil and filter. I have run some Lucas fuel treatment through it too.

It runs much better than it did, but it’s still not right. I can drive locally upto 30mph but when you floor it it doesn’t Rev properly and lacks power, it also stalls sometimes. No fault codes or check engine light is coming on, it’s doing my head in now!

Any advice welcome
