If it's the may & Scofield type then you can get a replacement ecu from the states and remove the immobiliser unit before plugging it in. If it's skis I don't know. Don't think you can remove it.

Looks easier to leave it on then, only got one pad though, anyone got any idea where I can get another and get it coded as a spare.

Since you refer to having a pad I assume yours is fitted with the M&S immobiliser with two button key pad. I have no idea about getting new fobs programmed. M&S may be able to advise on that. I believe they do have an option of adding a touch key to the immobiliser but the immobiliser may need sending to them to add the feature. There contact details are on the forum somewhere with mention of the add on. I've had a search of the site and can't find it myself but there may be somebody else who remembers it.

As for SKIS that uses transponder keys, that was optional in the US. Similarly to the early TJs a non SKIS PCM can be sourced from the US and the SKIM unit disconnected before the replacement PCM is fitted.

My 98 TJ has the 2 button 'Chrysler Logo' fob, and only came with one of them.
I bought a second hand one off of Ebay and got it reprogrammed at Marshall Jeep @ Cambridge. Wasn't cheap mind, and my local dealer (Peterborough) refused to guarantee it would actually work afterwards (hence the trip to Cambridge)
Have since found out that Steve @ FTE has a device to re-programme the fobs so he would be my first port of call if you want to get a replacement fob programmed. He may even be able to source a cheaper fob for you...??

Same job. Just fit a non SKIS unit.
