mental block......
« on: March 22, 2010, 08:51:50 PM »

between Friday and today the CJ has gained an electrical issue. when the break is applied it blows the fuse it shares with the hazards, only job I can think of that could have caused this is fitting the radio and CB, I ran a live, switched and earth from the dash to the console. the earth was just an extra branch from the existing earth point (allready servicing 3 other earths) the switched was taken from a red wire that comes from the ignition switch and the live from an orange wire that had an unused terminal that was permanently live.

have run out of daylight to try anything tonight but I'm sure its not the earth or switched as is causes the same blown fuse with ignition off, will try disconnecting the live in the morning after I get some more fuses but does anyone have any ideas?

nice tip  :003: traced fault to a wire in the lamp cluster shorting to the separators, all fixed now and wires rerouted, also sorted handbrake just waiting on parts now to do last bits before retest
