Right, due to my power steering pump destroying itself on the way back from Cheapfest this evening, I'm now looking for a new one!
Will one from any 4.0 Jeep (XJ, ZJ, TJ, WJ, YJ) be a direct fit, or ar there year-by-year changes? Then, does anyone have a known good one for sale?
Cheers 8-)

Cheers Rich, I've ordered that one and it should arrive tomorrow! I've also ordered roughly the right amount of fluid according to Greg at 4PlayJeep.
With a beer in my hand the removal of the FUBAR pump was much easier than I'd feared, taking under 5 minutes :icon_super:
-
1 Mopar bottle of fluid is normally right IIRC. 1 Quart / litre?

How's ya wallet......... ?????
Nice and slim??? ....... far less of an unsightly bulge in ya pocket.... :hysterical:
-
Cheers Jez, slim isn't the word I'd use to describe my wallet - more like inside out! It would be far worse though if Dave hadn't had breakdown cover - cheers Dave! :icon_super:

FFS, according to FedEx online tracking delivery of my steering pump was attempted at 16:00 today and that they left a calling card, but I've been home waiting all day and not a single van has passed.
I gave them a call, and all I was told was that they'll put it out for re-delivery tomorrow. It would possibly be nice if they'd offer some reimbursement for paying for next-day delivery...
-
driver saw the lane and thought sod it, recorded as a non delivery to keep his time correct. Normal practice for country areas

Pump had been left outside the front door when I got home from work today 8-)
Now fitted, topped up, and I think all done correctly. Took it for a test drive, and the steering is now a whole load lighter than it ever was before! Seems strange, but the pump has the same part number, and I like it :icon_super:

Good work Bryn

If its the same pump from a mk2 cherokee i would hope it to have the same part number.

It came from a '98 ZJ, but is identical in every respect.
I'm in all day today, apart from between 5:30 and 7:30, if that suits? There should be someone around tomorrow too 8-)
