The overhead panel shows the drivers door is open when it is shut. Aso all the controls in the drivers door have stopped working at the same time !
I can't even see a door switch where are they hidden ?
-
are talking about your Grand Cherokee 2.7 CRD .
there's a door control module that goes faulty. the switch is in the door lock i believe.
-
check the wires between the body and door (in the black rubber boot) you may have a cracked wire

Wires have been checked looks like its the door lock module are these dealer only and expensive ?
-
Check them again. one of them is also causing your heater malfunction.

Thanks Mike it makes sense that it's the wiring as two failures at the same time seemed a bit of a coincidence the heater control and the door lock / panel power. The electric windows have also stopped working.
Is there a short loom you can replace easily or is it a matter of finding and replacing any broken wires as you find them. I assume it could be more than one. Any advice as to what grade / type of wire to replace any found broken ?
Thanks ted

IIRC you can take the loom out, I soldered all new wires in on mine, no point just doing 1

As above have a bit of confidence its relatively easy to do. Done it twice on previous jeeps

As soon as the warmer weather is here I will take a look. I have a feeling that there have been previous repairs to the wiring inside the door as when I replaced the door card clips a couple of years ago as some were missing I could see some wiring had been badly taped up.

Took Jeep for MoT it passed Garage found broken door wire between A Pillar & Door total bill a very reasonable £113 !!
Thanks Guys for the advice.
