Enter late than never. :D
Rule one. If it doesn't say Cree, don't buy.
If you just want a decent amount of light for your £££ and be sensible about things, a 20" bar will be what your after, and you can mount a 20 neatly on most things. If you want silly amounts of light, a 40" roof mounted is the job. I do mean silly, trust me the first time you spark it up on a back road, you will piss yourself laughing !
Ooorrr,
If like me, you want to go full on redneck yank on its ass, a 20" on the A bar, a 30" on the bonnet and a 40" on the roof and Cree LED headlight conversion. 57,500Lm from that lot, and that worked out to the same as bringing my own daylight.
This was with the 20 & 40, and really doesn't do justice to how bright they are.

Exactly!!!...if you need more light than that, you shouldn't be driving!
I run a similar system and almost need sunglasses....at night!
-
And you will also need a careless disregard to oncoming motorists! And maybe hedgehogs!
-
Dunno where you go laning at night....but I tend not to get much oncoming traffic where I go. :icon_biggrin:

The ONLY safe way to use that sort of light on road is to kill them before you get into a corner. You just can't see oncoming lights, anyone driving into that would literally be in the nearest hedge, and blind. As Bazz will tell you, a 20" is enough to do this.
The day I got the 40" fitted was clear skys and bright sunlight. The guy who fitted it, very stupidly, thought, 'how bad could it be in this light' and looked at it, for about a second. He had a white flare spot in the centre of his vision for an hour and a half, was how bad it could be. They must be treated with respect. :)

Mine are also wired via the high beam relay, which simply means when you dip your headlights to low beam, all the extra stuff goes out.
I also have separate isolator switches on each set, so I can pick and choose what I want use.

RI are STUPID expesnsive, and your only patting for the name. The chips they use ain't as advanced or efficient as Cree.
Hit eBay, and look for Chinese sellers with free shipping, like this one. :)

Scrap the brackets, make your own from steel. It'll allow a spot of weld on the bolt heads to keep the light fingered crew at bay.

:iagree:....give some thought as to how and where you are going to mount them and all will be well..otherwise you might find yourself chatting to the plod ...again. :003:
