Went to rebuild front brakes last night with new calipers and they use a different size bolt - standard Jeep not Chevy (long story). I have suitable brake lines I can swap but in all my boxes of odd bits I have No banjo bolts in standard Jeep size.
If anyone has a couple they can post to me I'll cover postage and a few beer tokens.

Top work from a great Birty but lack of checking and brain power from me :die:
Anyone got banjo bolts for 1979 flavour FSJ? - I think CJ of that age are the same but not sure. Seem to be the same diameter as newer Jeep but different thread - any and all help welcome and needed now :icon_redface:

A quick google suggests 78-79 was changeover to metric banjo bolts so they should be 10mm. I'll see what I can find in that flavour later.
Edit:
Further googling finds this on pirate
Tech:
CJ Banjos 1981 and prior = 7/16-20 and 1982-newer = 3/8-24
Wag/Chev Banjos 1978 and prior = 7/16-20 and 1979-newer = M10X1.50
Looks like I'm looking for M10 x 1.5 BBs
-
I'd guess they are imperial as I have bolts from newer jeep and they don't fit.
Thanks for the measurements - I will do some googling myself as well.

i have two cj banjo's in calipers. not sure how they will come out but your welcome to have them James. if your not desperate that will be fine as they are not close to me so will be next week before i get chance to see if they will come out

Couldn't find any today. I know I've seen some but wouldn't know the size till I find them anyway

I just bought some off Ebay when i needed some, brand new with copper washers would save messing about when you know what size they are,

I've ordered a couple of different sizes now I have some clue what might fit. Consider it on hold until they arrive.
Thanks all :greggmo:

Fook I'm stupid or unlucky, got some more new banjo bolts this afternoon and found out that none of them fit BUT a bit of actual effort and they are just M10 standard thread! Got some more coming off eBay :icon_rolleyes:
I'll move this to workshop - thanks for all the help.

Moved to workshop just to be a bit of info for people.
Turns out up to 1978 FSJ seems to be imperial 7/16-20 as are the Chevy calipers that use the same pads.
1979 and newer are M10-1.5 which is standard M10 thread and not compatible with newer XJ/TJ etc which are M10 fine.
Hope that helps people.
Once the size is known they are easy to source on eBay
If you want stainless braided brake line give Dave at Llama4x4 a call - nice shiny blue coated ones silly long (800mm) made up and delivered in about 3 days for less than half you'd pay normally :icon_super:
