4.0 snorkel installation tips
« on: May 19, 2014, 08:25:55 PM »

Anybody got any tips / pics on fitting a safari snorkel to a 4.0 xj as I will be doing this next week. Other than the obvious of making and checking a template is there anything I should look out for? Don't think the pipe will fit round the abs unit and loom on the inner wing.

Just check & re-check the template positioning.

Obvious thing if its on a mk2 is to remove the washer bottle, other than that its a leap of faith with the hole saw.

& good luck  :icon_winkle:

There is room to fit them slightly higher to allow the indicator wing repeater to stay where it is. Saves having to reposition. :D there's also just enough space to relocate washer bottle to the engine bay, just above the plugs. Again, saves running tubing from the rear back up to the front.

Isn't there some advice about not cutting or drilling through the wing....

Because there's a washer bottle on the other side :hysterical:

Thanks for the tips, don't really want to go through deep water all the time but I plan on doing a few lanes that have river crossings in the future.
