« on: September 02, 2014, 11:05:19 AM »

I have a couple of pin holes in my coolant reservoir (plastic) - is there a repair?

This is on the jag and gets hot - otherwise I would have resorted to duck tape :003:

£50 + shipping from breakers is too dear :icon_eek:

Its only short term motor so tape seems the best idea as new tanks that arent standard are gonna require additional skills to fit  :die:

Dave - can you be more specific on this tape as Aluminium pressure tape produces nowt on fleabay etc - cheers

Or this:

Is a taped up engine bay not going to be detrimental to resale value though? £50 now makes sense. Or the hot poker as above

the coolant reservoir has a cover, plus the pin pricks are underneath so TBH it wouldnt be seen anyway

I can leave it and top up every week anyway

the hot poker has 'BD makes an even bigger hole' written all over it :lol_hitting:

quicksteel shouldn't affect plastic, just make sure the surface is clean from grease
