Seems I posted about these back in 2009 :hysterical: took me ages to not have to import them, and find a UK manufacturer.
So moving swiftly along I have some UK made ones coming.....I'll let you know how they perform.
Sizes: 2 1/2", 2", 1 1/2", 1" , 1/2" Set of 5
Stand back and watch me turn the '1Tonne' into Swiss cheese :icon_super:

Had to google that :003:
-
Ooh, new toys, nice. I expect it will all become very gusseted and race car like
-
I've read on pirate were folk have made their own, they make a neat job..
-
Just been crushing the bay for a 12 ton press :icon_twisted:
Then it's dimple time :icon_super:
-
I seem to recall self stabber (Mark) had some fabricated, is that right?
-
Yes Mark has a set and so did JJ our resident septic at the time.
Mark seems to have gone quiet for the moment.......maybe building a Jeep crushing Lardie based buggie to get back at us after all these years
-
maybe true but the engine will still run out of revs before a jeep
-
How thick is the steel your dimpling, 12 ton press sounds howdy doody :icon_biggrin: i have made them in the past but only small ones for zeus fastners on ally tin work
-
Got some 2.6 spare but normally 1.6 when I get another 1 x2metre sheet.
Guy selling them says he's doing 3mm stuff at the moment with 12 ton press......so fingers crossed.
Maybe a way of cooling BD s 401......... dimple Die hood :hysterical:
-
I made one from some gears a while ago, then bought rest from chap on ebay UK,they are well made, will post link to him later..have dimpled 3mm in a simple fly press
-
Ah fly press.......love em....... Stops people trying to look over your shoulder :hysterical:

I have a 15 tonner, maxxed it out a couple years ago removing a pitman arm from the xj's steering box, chickened out at first until I found a huge piece of cardboard to act as a guard before letting rip, it didnt separate until I introduced some heat, then off it went with a serious kabang and a farrrrrkinel :icon_biggrin:
-
did the same on some beetle from bushes, using a 20t works press and not realising the force applied until the forman suggested we stopped as it was at 18t and nothing had moved.
gas axe late with a bit of heat the ball joint fell apart and out.

Got mine from this chap, seem ok.. http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/291350799264?nav=SEARCH
-
Yup. That's the guy.
Will supply what you want.....within reason, says mine will take a week as they are not all stock sizes......
-
I've not really tested mine but certainly look well made and good value plus a more traditional style with returned edge which I think is a nicer stronger dimple
