Title: Replacing XJ's Cooling system
Post by: Brynjaminjones on June 08, 2015, 10:08:35 AM
Now that the ZJ is mostly good to go, I'm going to focus on bringing my XJ back to how she should be.
She's been running a little hotter than I'm happy with for a while now, so I want to replace the cooling system.

On the list so far are:
Heater matrix
Radiator
Thermostat
Coolant hoses
Viscous fan clutch

Is there anything else I should replace whilst I'm at it?

Also, is this radiator any good? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/JEEP-CHEROKEE-WAGONEER-4-0-95-ON-RADIATOR-RAD-NEW-/121561712354?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item1c4da486e2
I don't know what to look for when buying one...

Cheers Dave.
I've realised I've obviously forgotten water pump! Apart from the heater matrix, nothing looks like it should be too difficult  8-)

Another question on this... I'm looking for radiators and they all state that they fit seemingly random years on eBay. Do all RHD 4.0 XJs use the same radiator, or did they vary over the years?
