So I decided to take my standard orvis off road down a small track near the local golf club, was very very fun but i relaly need to fork out the money for better tyres, im going to be using the jeep on road and off road, so am i right in assuming that all terrain tyres are the best bet?
So what do you guys reccomend as the tyres i should get? and any good places that sell tyres cheap? I have a friend in a garage if i have to order the tyres online he can fit them for me. I looked at the BFG goodrich A/T tyres although cant find anywhere that actually has a price on them.
Oh and if anyone knows whats the best kind of rescue points to put on the jeep give me a push in the right direction.. im such a noob to 4x4
Thanks in advance for your info!

Hello Dude,
All terrain tyres are a good compromise if you still do a lot of road miles. I used BFG AT's on my grand when I started going off-road more often and they performed well, only struggling in really thick mud. BFG is owned by Michelin so, surprisingly, Kwikfit can sometimes do a deal for you at a decent price. Camskill are a good place for cheap on-line tyres with quick delivery too.
Some more folks'll be along to offer their opinions soon.

General Grabber AT2's are pretty good...

Search ebay of course. BIG savings can be made buying second hand tyres. I picked up a set of 4 BFG 31" M/T for 159 quidlies perfect condition with about 13mm tread. Retail I guess I'd shelling out over 500 for these. Use common sense when buying used tyres as some can be dangerous and should be binned. Go pick 'em up that way you can walk away if you have to.
