Title: Braking = cutting out?
Post by: Bobby on June 07, 2009, 04:48:05 PM
Hi all,

Jeep's been running fine (albeit a little less 'torquey') since the heads were replaced last summer but now seeing another intermittant problem.

Three or four times over the past few months it's cut out completely on me....but only when I brake! (at any speed).

It restarts fine....but obviously not good on the steering/braking front with no engine running  :-?

I've often noticed that, coming up to junctions, that the rev's drop just as I brake to a standstill then pick up again (but definitely 'spluttery' for a few seconds).

No 'check engine' light....no water in base of fuel filter (filter replaced about six months ago)....

Any thoughts anyone?

Cheers for any help

Bob

initially you could check the small vacuum pipes for splits

It's probably electrical. Get the Bosch controller scanned at a Bosch diesel specialist.
