it needs to be squeezed together, you can either spend some dosh and get the right tool, or you can find a small jubilee clip and close that round it, it releases it just the same.

thanks mate
i will have a go with a jubbly clip
its not that i am tight
but i don't surpose i will ever use the tool again
so i will take my time and have a slow mathodical go with
a jubbly clip
the fact the rubber look perished
does that matter
it does not leak now
but when i re-put it back on am i asking for trouble
or should it be ok

when you take it apart , nip down the road to the local plumbers and replace the 'o' ring seal in it and you will have no further probs,

many thanks

no joy :icon_sad:
i put the jublly clip on the fatest bit
is that right or should i be squeezing the thinner bit
-
panic over
if you look at the picture
what i thought was a broken rubber seals
is in fact two plastic tabs
i just squezzed them with my fingers and the whole
joint just popped off
its amazing what a bit of frustration does
