Can anyone put me on the trail of a heavier duty than the standard steering damper that'll handle my bigger tyres please ? Thanks !!
Oh it's eye to pin btw

Is the steering wandering or jittery? Don't be tempted to use a damper to cover up an underlying problem.

The steering's fine. It's just the side to side movement I'm trying to eliminate when I go over a rut or pothole. It's nothing major but been told my steering damper could be past it's best or a heavier duty one needed for the bigger tyres.

Death wobble lol, whats your caster angle like?
-
Lol ! I wouldn't describe it as a 'death wobble' at all - just a momentary side to side movement on hitting a rut or pot-hole. Thought a heavier duty damper might eliminate it but if not it's not such a big thing that I can't live with it - it's almost nothing !!
I'm sorry I don't have a clue about my castor angle 'cos I bought the truck as it is !

death wobble is the crappy american term for bump steer. If it's been lifted the caster is probably going to be slightly out, unless adjustable radius arms have been fitted, so there will be a slight tendancy to bump steer. If your damper is knackered then a new one should eliminate most of the issues. It might be that the damper is good, and it's stopping a lot more shake occuring.
