Post by: loosenup on June 20, 2009, 10:30:12 PM
Hi Guys
just  bought a replacement Radio for me XJ off of fleabay. no code with it .. guy says he has sold jeep so no go .

Any ideas how to reset code and get the thing working?

only paid £0.99p for it so it was worth a go :icon_razz:.

Did I hear somewhere that a freezer may reset to factory code.. and if so .. what is the factory code? and how long do I leave it in the freezer?

Also had a senior moment .. emoved my old radio to see if new one worked// cant find code for old one either .. 2 dead radios DOH!!! :bangtard: :bangtard:

any help please

Phill

I would put a after market DAB radio,  I have 3 of these in various motors :icon_redface:

The freezer thing doen't work. Not exactly an old wive's tale but goes back to the first generation of coded aftermarket sets in the '80s. Anyway. If you get the serial number off your radio, any Jeep dealer can get the code.

Or have a word with a local garage, recoding costs £10 generally.
