Title: DEATH WOBBLE
Post by: wildwood on June 22, 2009, 01:21:58 PM
Should know better shouldn't I ..... I do the cross over steering and get rid of the damper and it's fine...... then things wear and I get the wobbles.... and this time  its the shackle chassis eye bush that's toast so replace that and it's all back to normal... great......
then on the way to Clyro I get the mother of all jouncey death wobbles going down a steep hill on the over run and hitting the corrugations in the gutter and the left wheel is doing the pogo...... brakes on have a look and proceed to Clyro.... great weekend and spank the truck up the waterfall..... see vid... thanks, great weekend all.
Get home with no probs but can feel that any ruts could bring on the problem..... you know don't you,... you can just feel it thro your butt your feet and hands.
Anyway I was looking at the front again last Tues and noticed a tiny gap between the spring and axle... where the U-bolts clamp it all together.....
Yep thats right I had loosened the inverted U-bolts that I run and they were only torqued to about 10lbs per side. Just been out today with a trailer on and problem solved

Maybe just maybe this could be of use to someone!

if it's anything like his latest project it might be expensive and an might be a bit more than a bolt on
